477 on Pitt is a significant revitalisation in Sydney's emerging Tech Central precinct, reimagining a dated commercial building as a contemporary technology and innovation hub.

Materials & application

Existing brickwork was custom-coloured using ECOTONE Minsil and ECOTONE Matt to complement the adjacent Capitol Theatre's heritage tones. The red granite base was treated with ECOTONE Matt Plus for a sophisticated dark layered finish, and both brickwork and granite were finished with Ultra Graffiti Shield for durable protection against environmental wear and vandalism.

Outcome

By renewing and protecting the existing façade materials rather than replacing them, the project preserved embodied carbon, reduced waste and extended the lifespan of the original structure — blending heritage character with a modern aesthetic on this award-winning project.
